Lori and I visited Vietnam in 2010. They are a wonderful group of people. Happy and inviting.
After spending time in the Mekong and along the eastern shore, we boarded a train in Hanoi and travelled to the mountains of the far north, near the border with China in the village of Sapa.
This area is home to the Black Hamang people, famous for their deep indigo-dyed clothing and intricate hemp textiles.
One morning I got up early and the entire morning was cool and foggy, which is perfect lighting for images of people.
I wandered all over town and photographed these wonderful people in their colorful clothing.
This mother was taking care of daily chores with her baby strapped to her back.
