In September of 2022 Lori and I flew to Barcelona with our friends Jack and Kerry.
On the sixth day of our trip we boarded an Azamara cruise ship. After visiting Palma de Mallorca, Corsica, Sardinia, Trapani, Sicily and Malta we landed in Siracusa, Sicily.
The city was founded by the Greek Corinthians in the eight century B.C.
It became one of the most powerful cities of the Mediterranean even rivaling the importance of Athens.
Having been occupied by the Romans, the Arabs and the Spaniards the city has a diverse culture.
I spent most of the day just wandering this interesting town.
