In 2007 Lori and I went to Kenya. After arriving in Nairobi we boarded a plane to Eldoret, near the border with Uganda. From there we took a taxi further north to Kitale.
We were visiting a Christian ministry started by several women from Orange County California called Ordinary Women (today know as Outreach to the World).
We delivered two wheelchairs to an orphanage there. We got the wheelchairs from "Free Wheelchair Mission". After giving one of the wheelchairs to a young boy who did not have the use of his legs, he and I joined the other kids on the soccer pitch and had a great time. He almost fell out of the wheelchair multiply times (laughing continuously), and we scored a goal!
Lori is an R.N. and helped Sister Frieda who was conducting health clinics to refugees that were living in Kipsongo Refuge Camp in Kitale. A lot of these refuges were fleeing from Ethiopia.
After this we drove further north to Runo with a man named Paul
who was building a school for the children who lived in the area.
During our visit at the school I exposed this image of Paul leaning on a wall.
