In April of 2025, Lori and I spent three weeks travelling around middle and southern France.
We have travelled in France many times and are always amazed at how beautiful it is.
Many years before this I photographed this circular stone staircase, but didn't capture it correctly.
Photographing these stairs again was one of the main motivations for returning to this area.
When we arrived here Lori took a tour of the commune and I went straight to the stairs.
To capture this single image I spent about forty minutes.
I had to pause often as people walked through the scene.
To get the entire image focused and exposed correctly, I took over 80 images.
Then countless hours on my computer before it was finished.
