In 2007 Lori and I went to Kenya. After arriving in Nairobi we boarded a plane to Eldoret, near the border with Uganda. From there we took a taxi further north to Kitale.
We were visiting a Christian ministry started by several women from Orange County California called Ordinary Women (today know as Outreach to the World).
We delivered two wheelchairs to an orphanage there. We got the wheelchairs from "Free Wheelchair Mission". After giving one of the wheelchairs to a young boy who did not have the use of his legs, he and I joined the other kids on the soccer pitch and had a great time. He almost fell out of the wheelchair multiply times (laughing continuously), and we scored a goal!

Lori is an R.N. and helped Sister Frieda who was conducting health clinics to refugees that were living in Kipsongo Refuge Camp in Kitale. A lot of these refuges were fleeing from Ethiopia.
During this time I walked the city of Kitale and the refuge camp with my camera.

This image is of a young boy and an elder woman in the camp. In the background you can see a typical dwelling held together with plastic and rope. The camp had thousands of these dwellings.
