In 2010 Lori and I visited Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
When we arrived at our hotel in Khao Lak, Thailand there was a partial solar eclipse happening. Nobody that worked at the hotel was aware of the eclipse. We informed them, and let them look directly at the eclipse using my neutral density filter that I keep in my camera bag. After we did this for the staff we spent the next four nights in a beachside bungalow even though we had only paid for a room in the main lodge.
On our final night at Khoa Lak there was this amazing sunset. The clouds seemed to be cradling the sun.
There was also a small fishing boat anchored just off shore that I included in the foreground.
