June Lake, California is a six hour drive north on highway 395 from my home in Dana Point.
This drive is along the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and is a photographer's dream. In our college days Lori and I would backpack the Sierras with our friends Tom and Debby.
About ninety minutes south of June Lake is the Alabama Hills. This is the location for many Western movies and modern day car commercials.
After arriving in June Lake I entered Kenny Willingham's studio and found him busy with pottery.

Several years after making this image, I drove back to June Lake and gave him a print.
The artist who painted the image in the background was there at the time.
