Lori and I with our two boys, Jake and Aaron, camped in Yosemite Valley for nineteen years in a row. Our unofficially adopted third son, Ryan, joined us for many of these trips. For several years our friends Ford and Lisa and there kids also joined us.
Hiking, floating down the Merced River and Lori's great meals were always the highlights.
That, and of course taking my camera out for Yosemite images.
In the late afternoon in the middle of winter the sun strikes across the face of Half Dome at an angle that displays all the detail in the rock. On this particular day there was also a fresh dusting of snow from the night before.
Most of what I learned about photography came from reading and studying the works of Ansel Adams.
This image is a tribute to this great man.
