Lori and I with our two boys, Jake and Aaron camped in Yosemite Valley for nineteen years in a row. Our unofficially adopted third son, Ryan, joined us for many of these trips. For several years our friend Ford and Lisa and there kids also joined us.
Hiking, floating down the Merced River and Lori's great meals were always the highlights.
That, and of course taking my 4" x 5" camera out for Yosemite images.
On this particular morning I drove to Siesta Lake. A small lake north of Yosemite Valley.
This is a wet swampy area were Corn Lilies grow, and that was my goal.
There is always a price to pay if you want an image of corn lilies.....mosquitos.
Even with bug juice on, I was tormented by these awful creatures.
My reward was this image of the beautiful leaves of this plant.
I printed the middle of the image very bright to give it a sense of depth.
Lori calls this photograph, "Birth".....She is very insightful.
